A look at the long-lasting and serious psychological damage caused by terrorism.

Paper Summary:
This paper describes the long-lasting and far-reaching effects that terrorist attacks have on the victims of such attacks. More specifically, the paper explains that terrorism makes victims out of more people than just those people that suffered immediate physical harm from the attack and that the extended group of victims suffer from post traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and secondary emotional problems that they would most likely not have experienced had there been no acts of terror.
From the Paper:
"Jeremy Spindlove, who hints at experiences with terrorism himself, broadens the reader's understanding by pointing out that a person does not have to be physically present, or physically harmed, when a terrorist incident occurs, in order to be significantly and negatively affected by it. The obvious example for the United States is the passenger-planes-used-as-guided-missiles attack by Al-qaeda on September 11, 2001. As one physician points out, many people in the country can feel a strong connection to that disaster (1). Many people lost friends or relatives, or had recently visited the World Trade Center. In addition, the victims were doing things virtually every American has experienced: going to work, or flying on a plane, or sightseeing on a vacation, or just being in a high rise for some reason."
