"William Morris' novel, 'News from Nowhere' is a utopian vision of society. In Morris' work, the main character makes a brief visit into another century, where he spends a week among the pleasant and friendly inhabitants before being forced to return to his own time. The character travels only in a dream, of course, and at times shows that he is aware it is only a dream even as he interacts with the other characters. When he awakes, however, William 'Guest' struggles with the idea of making this dream into a true vision of the future."
