In particular, this paper examines Geddes' undeniable influence upon later thinkers - most famously Lewis Mumford. In the final analysis, perhaps no short paper can make complete sense of Sir Patrick Geddes, but the very exploration of the man is a rewarding and illuminating pursuit in and of itself. "
