"Strengths of the study include the methods used, which were thorough. For example, the subjects chosen were considered by the teachers and principal, to be representative of the population of students in rural public schools. Target behaviors were adequately derived and operationally defined, and observers were trained in their coding. Efforts were made to insure the appropriateness of reinforcement choices. Interrater reliability was determined for all phases of the study. "
