The results are largely consistent with a report released by Gartner Group earlier this year, which predicted that the value of the global travel industry market will increase six-fold, by the end of next year.The writer concludes that there is a need for travel agents to increase their on-line share, without disrupting the sales of their outlets. As tickets are purchased on-line, but must be picked up at the local agencies, companies can continue to stay competitive without significantly altering their traditional model.
