For example, it is the only country in the world that embraces multiculturalism as an official policy. Women are far less discriminated against here than in many other countries of the world. Furthermore, the Canadian Parliament has just legalized same sex marriage, thus taking a huge step towards overcoming heterosexism (Canadians for Equal Marriage). Yet there is still one thing that evokes discrimination and even hatred among many Canadians - and that is transsexualism."
