" The social contract of John Locke has been interpreted in ways justifying the inequalities of capitalist societies. John Rawls' ideas of justice have stressed the distribution of justice as social goods. One sees that any social system will benefit some members more than others. Unfortunately, the rise of capitalism as it coincided with liberalism and notably in the development of the United States did see some groups placed in situations of considerable injustice which Rawls has noted amply in different calls to see redistributive justice instilled."
