Besides curious invaders, the Yanomami have been exploited by their own government and the institutions which hold interest not in the Yanomami people, but in the resource rich lands they inhabit. The Yanomami have suffered the inhumane treatment of their people, involving massacres that have resulted in the depopulation of a large percentage of their kinsmen..."
