2,250 words (approx. 9 pages) | 8 sources | 2006 United States

Paper Summary:

The War on Drugs has been a costly and controversial war that has sparked heated debate on both sides of the issue. There are, for example, those who feel that America resources are being misallocated; on the other hand, there are those who feel that not nearly enough is being done. This paper surveys the challenges and opportunities involved in facing this problem, discusses the existing authority structures in place for fighting the drug war, looks at current norms and practices and makes recommendations for new alternatives and new forms of governance in the war on drugs.
