"Privatism: This concept originally addressed the fact that individuals should "seek happiness in personal independence and in the search for wealth". In addition to this it was thought that in order to achieve happiness individuals must first seek this within their family structure. Therefore loyalty to one's family and then to one's community was the direction in which an individual could grow. In application within a community privatism refers to creating a very amicable relationship between all successful money making establishments so that not only could they thrive but also they could add to the success of the financial community and its inhabitants. Richard J. Daley: Chicago's record setting mayor was none other than Richard J. Daley. He was elected to that position in 1955 and kept it for 21 years, until the time of his death in 1976."
