Paper Summary:

In this eight page undergraduate paper, the writer examines J. M. E. McTaggart's argument for the unreality of time. It is evident that he made a semantically persuasive case, for his argument seems to proceed logically from point to point. Further, the writer shows that his rejection of the tense-less and tensed theories of time appears to be supported by the progressive sequence of factual analogies he provides.

From the Paper:

"In describing J. M. E. McTaggart's argument for the unreality of time, it is evident that he made a semantically persuasive case, for his argument seems to proceed logically from point to point and his rejection of the tense-less and tensed theories of time appears to be supported by the progressive sequence of factual analogies he provides. He included these analogies in his argument in an attempt to clarify complex metaphysical issues in terms laymen could understand, and succeeded to a certain extent in enabling his readers to maintain their sanity while trying to determine if time or anything else is actually real. But McTaggart's ultimate argument that time is unreal is flawed because it rests completely upon his rejection of the two major theories about time."
