From the Paper:
"In global project management, technology enhancements are likely to be the most important part of global considerations and trends, because IT (information technology) and other information systems are currently vital to a vast array of businesses in many different fields, in terms of record-keeping and internal organization as well as in terms of relations with the customer. In the current technology environment employees of companies that are successfully integrating technology are also expected to be effective team players through this organizational strategy, so that they will be able to keep up with and capitalize on the latest technological developments by engaging other creative individuals and providing team solutions that stem from powerful group thinking within a globalized and networked working environment. Training is applied along these general parameters to achieve a workplace environment in which everyone is on the same page rather than split into competing factions that decrease productivity, in terms of technological advancement, and this is another reason for the importance of these factors. Technological retraining is a facet of organizational restructuring very often, and retraining must also take in this team spirit in workgroups. "Serendipity, that's what we call it when we like surprise engendered by change. When we don't like it, we call it unintended consequences. In both cases the outcomes are unplanned and thus unexpected. Such unanticipated outcomes are endemic to all planning, and Information Technology, or I.T., is no exception" (Connolly, 2002). This again underscores the importance of technology."
