The Frontiers of Modern Science

# 90050
The Frontiers of Modern Science
A discussion regarding Huston Smith, perennial philosophy and post-modernist conceits.
1,125 words (approx. 4.5 pages) | 3 sources | 2006 United States

Paper Summary:

This paper argues that the currently fashionable post-modernist, relativist fetishes of the new age have found inviting targets in both religion and in science. According to the paper, the reason for this is that both religion and science are areas of human inquiry which deign to argue that there are irrefragable and objective truths which can be discerned through human divination. The paper goes on to discuss how this does not sit well with post-modernists who have long ago eschewed the notion that transcendent "truths" actually exist.
