"The Bank of Canada Canada's monetary policy is determined by a Central bank known as the Bank of Canada. The Bank of Canada is a partially independent institution that is responsible for controlling the money supply in Canada (Mankiw and Scarth 171). The Bank of Canada's day to day operations are controlled by the Governor of the Bank of Canada. However, ultimate control of Canada's monetary policy is determined by the federal cabinet. In essence the Finance Minister collaborates with the Governor of the Bank of Canada. The Finance Minster relays the government's wishes to the Governor of the Bank of Canada."
