Paper Summary:

This paper explores telecommuting, including the risks and benefits. The paper includes guidelines for a telecommuting procedural manual. The paper was written with the company Moen in mind, but could be applied in a general way as well.

From the Paper:

"Telecommuting involves the partial or total substitution of telecommunications technology for the trip to and from work. Telecommuting is seen by some as a means to provide cost savings to an employer, to promote cultural change, to increase employee satisfaction, to increase worker productivity and to improve the environment by reducing the number of cars on the road. The advantages of telecommuting include reduced travel time and costs. In an ideal situation it is an environment in which employees are free from disturbances from visitors and co-workers."
