Paper Summary:
Technology in today's world is a rapidly expanding field, and one that many students will need as they continue through the educational process. However, many grade schools and high schools do not utilize technology effectively in the classroom, and thus, do not provide the necessary tools to students. This paper examines two articles discussing technology in today's classroom environment, and examines ways in which the ideas presented can be used effectively in one's classroom.
From the Paper:
"According to an article from PR Newswire "New Microsoft Office XP enhances the learning experience through increased productivity and collaboration, according to students, teachers, and administrators" (2001), the latest Microsoft Office product can greatly enhance classroom learning. The product, Microsoft Office XP, integrates many features relevant to the classroom environment such as smart tags in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, added animation features in PowerPoint, automatic backup software, and more editing tools. Additionally, Office XP provides "Send for Review" features, which allow students or instructors to send documents and presentations to many recipients at the same time, as well as allows them to collect comments and edits, and incorporate them into the original document quickly and easily. Still further, Office XP utilizes "Refreshable Web Query", which allows students to open a browser and collect information without exiting the Office software (PR Newswire, 2001)."
