This essay compares and contrasts early Canadian feminists (the suffragists) with the second wave feminists on the late 20th century. The essay focuses on the history of the two groups, the issues that the two groups fought for, as well as the methods they employed in their struggle. Feminism can be defined, in the simplest sense, as a movement to put an end to oppression against women and to achieve equality for all.
