"Despite many benefits of a Russian market, political and economic instability has been a hindrance to foreign investment. President Vladimir Putin has begun to stabilize the economy, which is in turn increasing investor confidence. While the payoff for a successful international investment into Russia would be great, the current economic state as well as challenges such as taxes, fast changing government regulations, and especially corruption, make the country unattractive for foreign investment at the present time. Investors would however, be wise to keep a close eye on Russia, as the economy looks to be growing and diversifying; the next few years may prove to be a very beneficial time for international investment."
