Paper Summary:

The case of the Republic of Ruritania, which unique in its particulars, is representative of many cases being addressed by the World Bank in the developing world. This being the case, this essay will argue that many of the lessons learned both positive and negative in processes of development in other countries have direct application to the experience of Ruritania. As will be seen a strategy of economic reform that incorporates lowering tariff barriers and opening Ruritania to foreign trade and investment is a necessary precondition for any planning for future growth.
