Right to Privacy

# 10352
Right to Privacy
Constitutional rights; invasions of privacy re: Internet.
1,350 words (approx. 5.4 pages) | 4 sources | 2001 United States

From the Paper:

"The United States of America has, since its inception, championed the rights of the individual. In the Constitution, the personal liberties of the common citizen are defined and safeguarded in the Bill of Rights and the following amendments. However, it is a compelling fact that nowhere among the text of the Constitution nor in the amendments is the word "privacy" explicitly mentioned (FindLaw Internet Legal Resources, 2000). The right to privacy, a quintessential and cherished right for Americans, has therefor proven difficult to establish in law (FindLaw, 2000). Challenges to an individual's right to privacy have arisen consistently over the years, relying on the courts, at both the State and Federal levels, to determine the extent to which our personal privacy is protected (FindLaw, 2000)."
