"The Right To A Jury TrialThis paper will examine the right to a jury trial in the United States and Australia in the context of the acquittal of the four Los Angeles police officers accused of beating Rodney King and the ensuing riots in Los Angeles. First, the economic and social backgrounds of the riots will be examined, followed by a short history of the right to a jury trial in England and the United States. Then the right itself will be analyzed under U.S. and Australian law.
