Reconciling Globalization with Social Welfare
A look at the power and influence of large corporations and how they affect the social welfare of the world.
675 words (approx. 2.7 pages) | 2 sources | 2006 United States

Paper Summary:

To say, as Ethan B. Kapstein does in "Sharing the Wealth", that reconciling globalization with social welfare is our greatest task, is to provide a crude blueprint of how society just might save itself. As in Kapstein's book, the documentary, "The Corporation", traces psychopathic realities of the way in which corporations function as citizens of powerful influence, controlling democracy to their own ends with little concern for the common good. This brief essay provides an overview of the corporation's effects on social welfare globally.
