Rape is a reality in today's world. An estimated 1 in 3 women will face rape or attempted rape. Women living in urban areas in the United States are at greater risk of being raped than are those living anywhere else in the world. "If a buzzer went off every time a woman is sexually assaulted somewhere in the United States, it would buzz just about every six minutes.". These are just the reported crimes, statistics estimate that 48% of rapes and sexual assaults are actually reported. Including the unreported sexual assaults the buzzer would go every three minutes.
