This paper explores the topic of racial bias in the media as it pertains to the portrayal of minorities in the news and in television programs. "An article published in the Journal of Broadcasting & Electronic Media asserts that the negative portrayal of minorities often means that they are viewed as being guilty until they are proven innocent. The article discusses the findings of a study that examined the extent to which pretrial media coverage biased jurors against defendants.
