Paper Summary:
The effective use of public relations is a key for any business, large or small. Public relations can be thought of as the communication of an image to a business's main audience. To be effective, businesses need to target the audience most likely to utilize their products and services, as well as keep in mind their goals as to what that audience should perceive about them. This paper examines three real-life scenarios of effective use of public relations and discusses why each was successful.
From the Paper:
"Secondly, any PR strategy should be designed to separate the business or service from competitors (Bolerjack, 1997). New, exciting, fresh, or timely information, presented in a way that is helpful and memorable, can do wonders for the business. The key, again, is remembering who the intended audience is, and presenting information to that audience in a way that is simple to understand, and timely. The use of the media is also essential to any PR strategy (Bolerjack, 1997). The media, whether it is news, commercial advertising, PR statements in newspapers, radio slots, or mailings, is an effective way to increase one's audience, as well as get information to that audience in a timely fashion. Effective use of the media can make or break any company."
