This paper examines the issue of corporate responsibility and public interest. This paper looks at the recent conflicts between Dr. Nancy Olivieri and a private partner, Barry Sherman's pharmaceutical company, Apotex Corp. The author describes this case as tragic and compares it to recent tragedy's around the world where corporations are not taking responsibility for their mishaps. In this particular case, there is a huge imbalance of power between pharmaceuticals and any individual scientist and/or hospital responsible for drug trials and approvals. This issue takes place in Toronto Canada.
