Among the fifty or so books he authored is his pivotal history of the A Popular Survey of the Old Testament', now in its twenty-eighth printing. The text is significant for a number of reasons. It provides a thoroughly researched introduction to the historical, sociological, and political context of Old Testament doctrine.
