Watson's theory is grounded in a belief in the person as a holistic, interactive being, and emphasizes the spiritual dimension of nursing. Her theory is based on the idea that caring is the core of nursing, as well as being the cohesive focus of nursing practice. Leininger also holds the very similar position that caring is the central focus of nursing."
