Paradise Lost
A discussion regarding the war between good and evil from a theological perspective.
675 words (approx. 2.7 pages) | 1 source | 2006 United States

Paper Summary:

This paper discusses the fall of Lucifer and his angels, which takes the form of a war between the angels of Satan and God's angels. There is a rebellion that is brought about when Satan rallies 1/3 of God's angels in his effort to take control. However although the battle becomes intense, the Son of God is called upon to lead God's angels in battle and it is then that Satan and his angels are defeated. The paper further discusses how Milton presents this scenario as a monumental battle against good and evil in which good ultimately prevails. By comparison, the fall of mankind occurs without immense battle and it is relatively peaceful; yet, it is the event that has the greatest affect on the world.
