650 words (approx. 2.6 pages) | 2 sources | 2002 United States

Paper Summary:

This paper presents a detailed description of what it was like to be a female and male African American slave in America before slavery was abolished in 1865. The author uses two writings of slaves from the era to examine the life and times of slaves and their gender roles.
