This paper discusses the film "The Matrix" in terms of pertinent sociological models: The "World System Analysis" and the "Global Village." Seeing these concepts through the lens of the film, this paper discusses humanity's role in technology, and how humans are both the fathers and the slaves to the technological infrastructure that they created.
