In the interest of constructing knowledge societies and economies, analysts repeatedly recognize the importance of higher education (Saint et al., 2004). Improving higher education access and quality should stand as one of the primary goals in all nations, though perhaps especially within the developing world. Nowhere are the difficulties of development more blatantly highlighted than in Africa, particularly in the nations of sub-Saharan Africa. "
