From the Paper:
"Nietzsche and Kierkegaard in the two presented passages both seem to be grappling with the question of who we are as humans and who we are as people of faith. Furthermore, how these two isolations make for a paradox, setting self against the dictates of faith. Each, however, uses divergent means to communicate their ideas. Kierkegaard's passage in overview suggests that the just life can only be lead if an individual "strips" their interior life, or their self (69). However, he also acknowledges that to do this is to maintain a sense of self."
