"Ethics have recently become an important part of American business. Companies are being held accountable for their ethical, or unethical behavior, and individuals within companies have been held personally liable for the decisions the company makes. This research investigates three ways in which ethics in business can be analyzed (the utilitarian approach, the rights approach and the justice approach), and then examines Northern Ireland's MacBride Principles in terms of its ethical effect on businesses, including American businesses, considering doing business there.


The utilitarian approach to justice puts the costs associated with the issue against the benefits associated with the issue (Koontz and Weihrich, 35). If the costs outweigh the benefits, then the question is deemed unethical. If the benefits..."
