"It is surely not the money. However, most individuals enter the teaching profession because they believe that somehow they can make a difference in a child's life. This supposition comes from the contention that teachers have the ability to take a child who does not want to learn, and make them love learning, or that teachers can take a child who has come from an impoverished home and lead him or her to a place where they will have a better existence. Or that a teacher can inspire a child to love the subjects that the teacher loves, and that child will grow up to be the best at whatever that certain love is."
