Overall, there are two types of leadership, which are transformational and transactional leadership. Those two types are "distinct but not mutually exclusive, and the same leader may use both types of leadership at different times in different situations". There are four leadership styles: hierarchical authority, hierarchical adjustment, a career approach and a devotional approach. In addition, there are further differences in leadership style based on gender.
