Introduction
The proliferation of the Internet and the availability of various types of computer files (including documents, sound files, video files and multimedia presentation files) have made it difficult for IT managers and computer users to keep track of new types of data. Databases have traditionally been used to track individual records, but today's computers can handle data of a much different type which is not easily converted into traditional relational database formats.
