The United States went from having a small group of Jewish citizens at the start of the Revolutionary War to having the world's largest population of Jews in a period of only about 150 years. This event profoundly affected American society at all levels and has had a lasting effect on our commerce, economy and international relations. In the process, these and other immigrants demonstrated a level of determination and resilience that would be hard for most people today to match"
