This paper reviews the life and work of Jeremy Bentham, the political economist who was born in 1748 and died in 1832. This paper discusses how Bentham was an important representative of this early prototypical class of political economists who are recognized today for their pioneering work. This paper further discusses the contributions he made to the political economy and as a jurist, a philosopher, and one of the period's foremost proponents of utilitarianism.
