Paper Summary:

This paper discusses the Jeremiad Movement within the United States, which has an extensive history that began with the early settlers. The paper explains that as time has progressed the citizens of the nation have grown to depend on jeremiad communication in order to alter the issues that have been presented before the nation. With a biblical foundation jeremiad literature began as a form of condemning social evils and making prophecies about the future. However, throughout the course of history it has become a means of challenging Americans to respect their heritage, recall the past, and change the future.
