While the science is focused on performing medical procedures and assisting doctors and other health professionals in their work, the art of nursing encompasses the whole human person. When a particular field encounters a speed bump in its ongoing progress, like education, it is appropriate to reevaluate where the organization has been, where it is currently, and in what direction the field needs to be pointed in order to regain its effectiveness. The nursing field is a sector of the educational system which is currently suffering from a reduction in recruitment. The nursing field has long carried the stereotypes of a career path that is "less than" a doctor's status, and therefore less desirable."
