"Though the Persian War ended in February, international conflicts remain over many issues including the continued dictatorship of Saddam Hussein and its reign of terror on the country's Northern Kurds and its southern Muslim Shiites. Of major concern for the long-term, however, is the status of Hussein's nuclear technology. In fact, this issue is so volatile it has nearly escalated the region into war again. The purpose of this paper will be to research and discuss this international concern in light of the Persian Gulf conflict while analyzing the factors that will limit or prevent it from escalating further.
