This research examines the invasions of the Vikings, Christians and English who influenced the growth and division of Ireland as well as the influence of the so-called Scot Norrans. The Viking period in Ireland began in the late eighth and persisted until the tenth century. Ireland was relatively accessible from the North Sea whence the Vikings sailed on multiple raids."
