This paper discusses the several promising advantages of internet voting such as savings in time and resources. The paper explains that a great deal of work remains to be done in defining the right methodologies, technology, and solving the various security risks involved. The main social issue outlined is the increased percentage of voter participation. From an ethical point of view, the problem of technological difficulties is described.

"One major issue that needs resolution is the fact that there exists a choice of several models from both the technical and social science perspectives. Internet Voting systems can be poll, kiosk or remote. Poll site Internet voting enjoys an advantage over traditional voting systems in that the tallying process is faster and more accurate. Kiosk voting implies voter accessibility at many more public places such as malls and schools, but election officials only have control over the platform with the option of monitoring the physical environment by security cameras and/or physical manning by officials or volunteers. Remote Internet voting is the ultimate system as it envisages voter accessibility to the ballot anytime and anywhere and offers the maximum amount of convenience and cost savings."
