"Stimulants are drugs that stimulate the Central Nervous System. These types of drug tend to increase alertness and physical activity. The groups include pharmaceuticals such as amphetamines and the street drugs commonly called "uppers" or "speed," cocaine, crack and some inhalants like Amyl or Butyl Nitrites.
