This has emerged most recently with the issue of gay marriage, but even without the question of marriage, many Christian groups decry homosexuality as a sin and condemn the practice, with some claiming that it is chosen or learned behavior and not an innate trait, which is contrary to current scientific opinion. Some of the reasons why this is so lead to a consideration of how to consider the influence of scripture on such judgments."
