This phase will be similar to the 1930s depression and will be marked by massive unemployment. The best investments for this time, according to Dent, will be government and high quality corporate bonds, small town real estate and commercial properties. Dent predicts that the Dow will crash to about 7,000 in 2023. After 2023, the next boom will begin, says Dent, and the Dow will peak at about 40,000 by 2050."
