The term relates to the idea of life-place, another term that is informed by various disciplines. Bio-regionalism means living a rooted life, which in turn means living within a specific ecological area. The individual lives in a neighborhood, a community, a town, and all of these are included in the bio-region for that person. A bio-region is an area sharing similar topography, plant and animal life, and human culture, and bio-regions are generally organized around watersheds. The boundaries are not normally rigid..."
