1,125 words (approx. 4.5 pages) | 4 sources | 2005 United States

Paper Summary:

This paper discusses the effects of globalization on society. The paper suggests that underdeveloped countries, by definition, are considered unstable because they have a low instance of exports, have difficulty sustaining their own population through education, health, and nutrition issues, and rely heavily on agriculture, which cannot be sustained without advancements in technology.

From the Paper:

"The theory that as "globalization proceeds, it will also be true that some dimensions of a society's life are not affected by world markets, though these may shift over time" is evidenced in the least developed countries of the world (56). These countries, by definition, are considered unstable because they have a low instance of exports, have difficulty sustaining their own population through education, health, and nutrition issues, and rely heavily on agriculture, which cannot be sustained without advancements in technology ("First")."
