This paper the theories and practices of global politics. It explores the Cold War, democratic countries versus Communist systems and changes after World War II with regards to international politics. It examines ways in which issues of international security have been handled and other information on the world economic and political structure and threats.

"The theory of democratic peace holds that liberal democracies almost never go to war with one another. Part of the reason for this is economic, and the theory holds that an open market such as is common in democratic countries. Numerous studies could be cited to show support for the democratic peace theory. Democracies have a common culture, which ties them together in a way that prevents war. Democracies are subject to the rule of law, which is another force for peace as the population is more accustomed to settling differences through arbitration than fighting. America has been held out as the most important example of modern liberal democracy, with American political development seen as the working out of liberal democratic or republican principles in terms of both "liberalizing" and "democratizing" socioeconomic changes.
